“Love makes your soul crawl out from its hiding place.” ~Zora Neale Hurston

“What?”

“Drink all that water,” he stated matter-of-factly.

“You have been drinking heavily and the water will nauseate you,” he said.

“What is my alternative?” Should I throw it up?” I was being silly.

He chuckled and rubbed my shoulder down to my elbow.

“Your body will let you know if it needs that much water in the near future.”

“Oh no! I’m gonna throw up!” I whispered. Feeling seriously nauseous.

He walked to the bar. Poured a glass of white wine and brought it to me.

“Try this. It might help you stay drunk so you don’t throw up, tonight,” he added playfully.

I gulped the wine and set the glass on the bedside table and reached for Sam. He slowly crawled into the bed, wrapping both arms around my shoulders, and sighed deeply.

“Girl you are something.” He planted lingering kisses on my shoulder.

I giggled. “Something other than what?” I asked, knowing what he meant.

A few seconds later he replied. Just not the reply I expected.

“You are my woman.” You know that don’t you?” he asked as he crunched down pecans from a small bowl of nuts and chocolates placed on the nightstand.
