This drabble responds to one of Grim Flandango’s daily word prompts (‘inning’).

“Are you appertaining to me, or my silverback?” asked a perplexed and aroused Balthazar.

Mima’s words deeply disconcerted and embarrassed her.

The bronzed giant gazed into her face, breathing heavily as he awaited an answer.

“I was referring to the magnificent creature,” Mima lied.

Balthazar removed all his weaponry. “Lay down your armaments”, he requested. “We’ll speak only of saving the endangered creatures”.

“You may kill me and devour me,” Mima boldly teased. She hoped to reach an inning in this imminent dispute.

Balthazar retorted. “That may be your desire, Princess. I won’t harm you. You are damned fine, yourself.”
